This article will cover additional detail in our onboarding process.
Our server has rules, as do many other servers. You are required to agree to them.
In case you don't see the checkmark you need to click in #onboarding, make sure you have turned on the following setting under App Settings in your user settings:
In order to have the best experience, you are encouraged to perform the below task:
Discord's "Browse Channels" feature works very poorly with large servers, and users / admins cannot turn it off. We ask in order for you to get the relevant channels shown to you on the server that you turn on "Show All Channels". Your experince on DIG will be heavily customised based off the roles you choose on the server. Users will simply not understand what they should show or hide, and you will miss important information.
DIG has been around for a long time, so our Discord has a lot of channels. For an overview of these channels, please visit our Discord Server Guide page.
DIG operates on a "subscribe/unsubscribe" system. It is important to understand that any role you subscribe to can be unsubcribed from, meaning, if you are getting too many pings on a particular game, you can unsubscribe, just like email lists.
To get to the games you like you now got to click into the #roles channel:
In this channel, by clicking on the various reactions, you can customize your experience with DIG.
Certain roles will unlock additional channels for you.
Selecting a role e.g. Albion may require you to "follow pings" and continue your journey into the game's registation or other information.
Go back to roles and click on the reaction for the role again. The bot will remove it from you.
We believe strongly in using pings appropiately and in a non-annoying fashion. We only will ever use @everyone for community wide announcements that affect everyone. Individual game pings are kept within that sub-community, and they have their own sets of roles to do so.
Due to our customizable ping system, we don't recommend it. We try to have as little as possible pings in all games. But if you mute the server, you might miss out on the action.
The main game roles can only be pinged by the game leaders. Recreational game roles can be pinged by everyone. This way you can ask your fellow DIGlets to join in on the game.
