Our server is (fully self admittedly) complicated to newcomers. We have been operating for over 12 years, 8 of which have been on Discord. Our server is large, but with some explanation, we hope you agree it is well structured.
The Server is strucuted into the following 3 forms of categories:
¶ Community
Here is the beating heart of the community, the section that ties everyone together. Everyone on the server can see this category, and all of the channels within it, in exception to #men-of-culture and #herebedragons which are both locked behind a role, which you can acquire in #roles.
- #chit-chat: Our general discussion area not related to Community or Recreational games (or any other special discussion channel).
- #game-suggestions: Got a game that you think would be a good fit for the community? Suggest it!
- #creative-stuff: Got a talent you like to share with the world? Go for it!
#herebedragons: Our only NSFW channel. There is a line. Do not cross it.
- #men-of-culture: Where the anime weeaboos live. The channel is a little... weird. Community rules apply, no tentacle porn please!
- #bot-commands: If you want to use one of our bots, this is the place to do it.
- #meetings-chat: The text based chat for the Community Meetings held once a month.
¶ Game Specific
Each Community game (and by extension, Rec+ Games) have their own special section. These are acquired by grabbing roles within #roles and will be revealed to you after you get the role for the relevant game.
As of writing, there are 3 categories of games that qualify:
- Albion Online
- Rec+/PS2
- Rec+/Foxhole
¶ Recreational Games
Our Recreational Games section contains all of the games that qualify as a Rec Game. Certain popular Rec games at the current time will have their own channels in order to focus the conversation surrounding those games and keep discussions relevant.
This section will grow and shrink over time, the channels listed above will likely not be the ones you see as you read this.
Below are the permanent channels:
- #other-games: Chatter related to our Rec games that do not have a dedicated channel for them.
- #servers: When we are currently hosting a server for one of our rec games, the instructions on how to join us there will be posted here.
- #free-games: We have a bot that posts daily free games (usually Epic Games).
- #paradox-games: Rather than making seperate channels for the variety of Paradox Games we have in our Rec system, we just merged them all into one place.
- Games Room: Voice channel where our Rec Game events are held, they are used as part of our GOTM series.
